Since 2008 I have been tuning and repairing pianos in Winnipeg as well as Montreal. Having had the chance to learn from piano technicians in both cities, I continue to keep growing my knowledge base in this area of work.
Piano tuning is essential to having the instrument sound its best. The process takes roughly two hours and should be done at least once per year. Seasonal changes in temperature and humidity put a strain on pianos and cause them to go out of tune as a result.
Pricing for tuning and repairs within the city of Winnipeg:
- $120 – basic tuning (small adjustments and/or minor repairs included with this price)
- $160 – tuning and pitch raise (pianos that are more than 10 cents flat)
- $60/hr – repairs and regulation work (where more significant repairs and adjustments are needed)
